Psychometrics
Psychometrics is the scientific field concerned with designing tools (questions/scales) that measure traits you cannot see directly — like intelligence, extraversion, or emotional stability — by turning answers into comparable numbers and percentages.
This is the foundation our IQ test is built on specifically: our methodology explicitly states the test is based on "psychometric principles in logical, verbal, numerical, and spatial reasoning."
Good psychometric measurement doesn't just place you in one box — it measures the degree of each trait on a graded scale, which is the same principle behind every test on Discover Yourself (see: Two-Axis Scoring Model).
Its limits: online self-assessment is a self-awareness tool, not a substitute for a licensed professional evaluation.
